It is widely known that Manitoba has a long and rich history with the arts, music in particular. The immediate goal of The Manitoba Music Experience is to remind everyone how wonderful that musical history is and bring new appreciation to the music makers of the past and the present, music that in many cases is recognized around the world.
Our initial project "Did You Know?" will run concurrently with The Beatles! Backstage and Behind the Scenes, the Manitoba Museum's exhibit running February 12 to April 11, 2010. This will be our launching pad for our summer show called "Shakin' All Over". The show will be a multi-media celebration of the many facets/genres of music in our province over time. Each genre will have space allocated to them (pods) in which you will see familiar faces, some perhaps forgotten, artifacts and naturally, hear the music specific to that genre.
Our partners in the music industry have joined us whole heartedly to showcase the men and women who have worked hard to create the music they love so much. The genres include Country, Folk, Jazz, Classical & Opera, First Nations, Métis, Franco-Manitoban, Blues, Children & Family and Rock n' Roll.
Alloway Hall will be the home of "Shakin' All Over" and will include a live performance area where a variety of special guests will perform the music they love, and so do we.
Our long term objective is to have our own stand-alone building or a facility that will house artifacts, activities and the music of all the genres under one roof. This will be a meeting place, a place to see and learn about our musical history and celebrate all the many successes of our Manitoba musicians, songwriters and others involved in the music industry.
With some of the biggest events planned this summer as part of Homecoming 2010, we know "Shakin' All Over" will have thousands of music lovers from all over the world visiting our show and remembering some of the names, faces and especially the music of the creative forces we are so very proud of. We hope you bring some of your friends and family too.
Recognizing your generosity to the upcoming exciting exhibits is extremely important to all of us at the The Manitoba Music Experience. We look forward to recognizing your contribution in meaningful and appropriate manner.
Although we are still finalizing some of the details regarding the various benefits, we are confident you will be pleased with the outcome.
The initial sponsorship opportunities and recognition are outlined on the following pages for your review and consideration.
Donations towards Manitoba Music Experiences "Did You Know"? and "Shakin' All Over" will be eligible to receive a charitable tax receipt.

In 1964 this St. Boniface-born country singer became the first Canadian female artist to sell a million copies with her recording of "The French Song". Do you know who she is? Lucille Starr's "The French Song" was produced by Herb Alpert (of the Tijuana Brass).
